Unbeaten Loyola girls and New Trier boys dominate in high school sports, Trevs gymnasts triumph over Carmel

BOYS BASKETBALL
Nw Trier 60, Deerfield 36

The host Trevians took care of the Warriors for a conference victory on Thursday, Dec. 7, in Winnetka.

Loyola 57, Windfall St. Mel 13

Nick Patton scored 11 points, while Brendan Loftus grabbed 8 rebounds for the Ramblers on Tuesday, Dec. 5

Loyola 61, Von Steuben 21

Andrew Hollerich racked up 23 points, thanks partly to seven 3-pointers, within the Ramblers’ win on Saturday, Dec. 2, in Wilmette.

Hoffman Estates 53, Highland Park 50

The Giants fell within the nonconference matchup on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Recent Trier 52, Maine South 35

The Trevians earned the road victory on Friday, Dec. 1, in Park Ridge.

Brother Rice 45, Loyola 38

Miles Boland scores 14 and Andrew Hollerich chips in 8 for the Ramblers on Friday, Dec. 1, in Chicago.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Recent Trier 52, Deerfield 19

The Trevians earned a Central Suburban South victory on the road Thursday, Dec. 7, in Deerfield.

Highland Park 39, Vernon Hills 35

McKenzie Reitmayer led the Giants (4-2) with 17 points, while Kourtnie Halperin added 13, including the ultimate 4 three throws that made the difference on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Loyola 62, Marist 29

The Ramblers took down the Redhawks on Monday, Dec. 4 for his or her eighth win in eight tries.

Loyola 64, Vashon (St. Louis) 24

Morgan Bruno drained six 3-pointers for a team-high 18 points within the Ramblers’ victory Saturday, Dec. 2, as a part of the Chicago Elite Classic.
Aubrey Galvan scored 14 points to go along with 8 rebounds and Paige Engels added 10 for Loyola.

Maine South 53, Recent Trier 28

The Trevians fell within the Central Suburban South showdown on Friday, Dec. 1, in Winnetka.

Loyola 60, Montini 47

The Ramblers picked up the house win on Friday, Dec. 1

Highland Park 47, Maine East 42

McKenzie Reitmayer tallied 16 points and Maddie Reitmayer 12 for the victorious Giants on Friday, Dec. 1

GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Highland Park 121.25, Maine West 111.2

Jillian Mangione (31.65) and Maddyn Cohen (31.5) finished 1-2 within the all-around for the Giants on Thursday, Dec. 7.
Amelie Gerber won the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise for Highland Park.

Recent Trier 140.3, Carmel 138.3

Clara Crossgrove won the ground exercise (9.35) and Anabel Sturgis the uneven bars (9.15) because the Trevians earned the twin win on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Taylor Kim finished second within the all-around (35.6) for the Trevians.

Glenbard West Hilltopper Invitational

Sammy Mills placed eighth (35.6) and Clara Crossgrove tenth (35.2) within the all-around scoring to assist Recent Trier (138.8) to 3rd place within the 12-team meet on Saturday, Dec. 2. Crossgrove placed seventh in the ground exercise (9.15) to steer the Trevians results.

Rolling Meadows Invite

Maddyn Cohen won the vault (8.6) and the all-around (32.0) to assist Highland Park to a second-place finish on Friday, Dec. 1.

BOYS SWIM AND DIVE
Patriot Relays

Augustus Noreuil won the 50-yard senior race to assist Recent Trier to first place on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Stevenson High School. The Trevians also won 4 of the relays — three free relays and a 400 medley relay.
