One person was shot and hospitalized Sunday morning in Highland Park following a “conflict between two individuals,” according to a City of Highland Park.

The alleged shooter reportedly is a male who left on a bicycle from the scene in the 2300 block of Green Bay Road, which is a residential area north of Onwentsia Avenue.

City officials said no additional details were immediately available.

Authorities are asking residents to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

Highland Park police are investigating the shooting along with the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 911.
