North Chicago Car Shooting Claims Woman’s Life

NORTH CHICAGO, Ailing. — An investigation is underway in North Chicago after a girl was found dead in a automobile on Friday morning, in keeping with police.

North Chicago police say officers were called to the scene within the 1000 block of Victoria Avenue after residents in the world reportedly heard several gunshots fired just before 6 a.m.

After arriving on the scene, officers found the girl dead inside a parked automobile in her driveway near eleventh and Victoria Avenue. Officers say an unknown individual approached the girl on foot and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

In line with Lake County Sheriff spokesperson Chris Covelli, the girl had just left a close-by residence before reaching her automobile.

Police say it’s currently unclear what led to the shooting and officers haven’t yet made any arrests.

The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is now conducting an investigation.

Anyone with information on the deadly shooting is asked to call police.
