Max Miller charmed his technique to YouTube stardom along with his witty, fascinating re-creations of foods and drinks from bygone worlds, from ancient Egypt and Babylon to the Mongol and Aztec empires. On October 23, 2023, Bookends & Beginnings invites you to hitch us to sample a cocktail (alcoholic or virgin) from Chicago’s past while listening to Max discuss his fabulous recent cookbook, Tasting History, with food author and bookstore owner Nina Barrett.  At this event, Max will discuss his path to culinary stardom with bookstore owner Nina Barrett, herself a James Beard Award winning food reporter, whilst you enjoy a glass of Raspberry Shrub, a historical Chicago cocktail featured in Tasting History. Please note: Capability for the talk-and-cocktail event is restricted to 75, so reserve your spot ASAP. Your ticket includes a duplicate of the book and one drink—or, if you happen to select, you may skip the drink and just get the book.
