“10 Questions with Paige Engels, Loyola Basketball’s Athlete of the Week”

Paige Engels is a senior guard for the 19-0 Ramblers and a four-year varsity player. She is committed to play for Cornell University next 12 months.

1. Do you could have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

I even have a pair. Kelsey (Langston) and I all the time give a handshake after we’re the last two to have our numbers called (during lineup announcements) and I even have a handshake with Clare Weasler too.

2. Why Cornell?

Once I visited, I could just tell. It was obviously a very beautiful campus and had all the things I used to be on the lookout for with academics and the entire team culture. I could tell it will be an awesome place for the following 4 years for me to have plenty of fun and each thrive as a student and athlete.

3. What’s your favorite thing to do off the court?

I believe to hang around with siblings (brother Matthew, 22, sisters Clare, 20, and Brooke, 16) and friends and do anything — watch a movie or show, just loaf around. My favorite thing is spending time with people I’m closest too.

4. What’s your favorite TV show straight away?

I’d say “Grey’s Anatomy.” That’s what I’m watching straight away. I’ve just been binging it straight away and it’s been entertaining, all of the drama.

5. When you could play one other sport, what would it not be?

Volleyball. I used to play in grade school and it was all the time so fun and I like to observe it too. I am going to a bunch of highschool games. I like watching it and it was fun to play.

6. What’s your dream job?

I’d need to be someone who gets paid to travel, because it will be really cool to go to a bunch of various countries. It could be cool to receives a commission to do this.

7. What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?

I’ve been to plenty of places in america. Idaho obviously. Yearly, my uncle takes me and all my cousins on my dad’s side on a visit there. It’s a really beautiful place with mountains and the river. It jogs my memory of excellent memories of cousins and family. There may be a lot to do — climbing and fishing.

8. When you are in Walgreens with a pair bucks, what are you purchasing?

Some candy. Some Airhead Xtremes bites .

9. What’s something people don’t learn about you?

I wish to fly fish. It’s one among my favorite hobbies when I am going to Idaho in the summertime. I enjoy it when I even have the prospect. It’s very relaxing and plenty of fun.

10. What’s it going to take for this team to make the state finals?

I believe all of us just should buy into one another and trust and know we’re ok to get to that time. Now we have to place work in day by day within the gym. Continuing what we’ve been doing, continuing to have plenty of fun and work really hard will help us succeed.
